The week ahead

Well, things are getting a little thin around here in terms of live Boston College sports action.  Of course, we're all waiting on pins and needles for Papa Samba Ndao to tell us he will or will not play for us (probably the latter), but otherwise, here are the sports we have going on right now: Baseball, softball, track, tennis, golf, lacrosse, rowing, and sailing.  Some of these teams you can watch, most you can't.  One of the ones you can't, our sailing team, is still #1 in the nation as you may recall.

In any case, the big story right now is BC baseball, sweeping the weekend series against Wake Forest and getting up to 19-17 (9-9).  They have restored some order, but now they must continue the climb up to real respectability.  This week, they will play for the Baseball Beanpot against Northeastern on Wednesday in Brockton.  NU is a sub-.500 team but they are the defending champions.  After that, a far more important series awaits at NC State.  The Eagles and Wolfpack are tied for third place in the ACC Atlantic.  This is a series Boston College has to take.  More to follow later in the week.

Of course, we also have the NFL Draft coming up, with several of our football players looking to join the pros.  I'll have a few articles this week on the draft and I will, of course, follow it.  Hopefully we'll also get that guest article I promised you last week, so stay tuned for that.
