And now for something completely different...

...the hockey team is still good.  For a little while, I don't want to think about our basketball team and some of their wretched losses.  Let's focus for a moment on our men's hockey team, which continues to climb up the rankings and beat quality opponents.  As of today, the Eagles are now ranked 6th in the country with an overall record of 10-3-2.  They've won five in a row but won't get a chance to make it six for quite a while.

The finals break in the schedule for hockey is particularly large, and Saturday's game against Providence was their last until New Year's Day.  BC then will be playing in Denver in the Wells Fargo Denver Cup.

Freshman goalie Parker Milner, last week's Hockey East Rookie of the Week, hasn't lost yet when he's been in the net, but John Muse has been no slouch, either.  I would share with you BC's point leaders so far this season, but the statistics on BC's site are a week and a half out-of-date.  Suffice it to say that BC has good players and they're doing well.

After a down year last year, BC hockey looks like it's back and ready to contend in 2010.
