Disaster, part deux

So, you were like me and thought BC couldn't lose to Harvard in back-to-back seasons?  Well, we were all dead wrong.  The Eagles again played a flat game at Conte and lost to the Crimson 74-67.  In each of the last two seasons, the Eagles have sustained a catastrophic WTF loss against this team and this will once again be a major black eye on their hopes for later on this season.

BC led at the half, unlike last year, but collapsed in the second half (which has been their calling card so far this season).  Joe Trapani propelled the Eagles in the first half, but for the most part, the team was ice cold and made a number of crucial mistakes.  They couldn't guard, they couldn't shoot, they couldn't cash in on Harvard's ridiculously high number of turnovers (16), and their free-throw shooting was abysmal (8 misses).

I didn't think it was possible for the Eagles to again play as badly as they did in January, but they've showed me that anything is possible.  After building up some credibility with wins over Michigan, Providence, and Miami, they've lost it all and have to start from scratch again.  I'm very nearly at a loss for words right now, though I'm reminded of the saying "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."  This is now twice in two seasons that they have been dominated by the same team from an inferior conference, and apparently they haven't learned from their mistakes.  For the time being, "Boston College" and "Tournament" do not belong in the same sentence, as they've now laid three eggs this year, and this was the biggest of them all.

  1. I still can't believe it.

This one is all on Al.

  2. Very rarely am I at a loss for words, but I almost was last night. They f*cking did it again.

At least hockey won? It's of no comfort to me, but still.
