Week 4 in the ACC: Recap

South Florida 17, (18) Florida State 7

¡Dios mio! No Grothe, no problem for the Bulls as they outplayed FSU. Abominable performance by the Seminoles this afternoon who look like a play-up-or-down-to-your-competition kind of team this year.

Georgia Tech 24, (22) North Carolina 7

Had a feeling the Yellow Jackets would finally get it together again. This was the Heels' first ACC test, and they failed it miserably. Georgia Tech dominated this game, led by their defense.

Boston College 27, Wake Forest 24 (OT)

An ugly win, but a win nonetheless for the Eagles. Up 24-10 in the closing minutes of the game, BC let Wake Forest score twice, and it took a Riley Skinner fumble inside the BC 5 in overtime to seal it. The Eagles played better than last week, but came very close to choking this one away.

Rutgers 34, Maryland 13

¡Ay carumba! Maryland is a ridiculously bad team this year. I think that's all that really needs to be said.

NC State 38, Pittsburgh 31

I'm surprised there were so many points scored, and I'm surprised NC State won. Russell Wilson is probably the conference's best quarterback right now.

(15) TCU 14, Clemson 10

I thought Clemson was a stronger team and TCU wasn't going to be able to handle them. I was wrong; Clemson got a taste of its own medicine and saw their offense snuffed by stout defense. Big win for TCU.

(11) Virginia Tech 31, (9) Miami 7

The reality check has been delivered to Miami. I heard one of the analysts on College Gameday this morning calling them "a top 5 team" before they even played this game. I hope he takes that back. The Hokies have the inside track to the Orange Bowl again.

Duke 49, North Carolina Central 14

This game was a little close at the start, but Duke did what they had to do.
