MLB Notes

* Toronto looks pretty good right now. They're clicking and it's a little surprising to me. This is not the kind of team I'd think of as one of the AL's best but they're playing like it for now.

* The Marlins, on the other hand, I could have seen them playing well, but this 11-1 start is just mindblowing. It is all working for Florida (though playing the Nats 6 times does tend to help). A 5-game lead this early in the season is in no way guaranteed to hold, but it looks awfully nice.

* Tampa Bay is back in last place in the AL East. I don't think they'll stay there, but they probably didn't expect to be there right now.

* Boston sweeping the O's (at least these first three games out of four) was a foregone conclusion; I could have told you this was going to happen last week.

* Minnesota sweeps the Angels who are clearly not playing well right now. The Twins may have finally woken up and are ready to get involved in the massive clump of teams at the top of the AL Central.

* The AL West seems to be in reverse right now. 3 of the 4 teams have lost most of their last 10 games.

* The Marlins are the league's hottest team, but the 2nd hottest are the Dodgers. Best run differential in baseball at +42, which is even 10 better than the 11-1 Fish.
