OK, show of hands, which one of you who isn't related to him thought Angel Cabrera was going to win the Masters on Thursday morning? Congratulations to him; he persisted and held off the vicious charges from Tiger and Phil.
A lesson is to be learned from this for some; I know I've said on this blog before that there are golfers other than Tiger Woods, and well, it's true. I think the expectation out there amongst many casual fans is that he's going to win every single tournament in which he competes but that's simply not the case. He played fairly well today but missed some golden opportunities whereas Angel Cabrera did not. It happens.
This now makes 3 years in a row where the green jacket went to a player who isn't really a big name: Zach Johnson, Trevor Immelman, and now Cabrera. Very interesting.
