BC 21, Duke 16: Postgame reaction

*This was about as facepalm-worthy and hollow of a win as you will see in football.  Boston College led in this game by 15 late in the third quarter, and then Duke cut it to 12.  BC was marching inside the Duke 10 to ice it, but Montel fumbles, Duke runs it back, and it's a 5-point game.  BC then completely turtles up on offense and the defense lets Duke get all the way down to the BC 4 before tightening up and ending the game.  Absolutely cringe-worthy.

*Frank Spaziani was bailed out by his defense's final stand and Chase Rettig having put some nice TDs on the board.  His clock management and in-game coaching skills are abysmal, as he illustrated today, particularly near the end of the game.  Guess what?  They're not going to get any better, either.

*In the past two weekends, BC has played against some of the worst defenses in the nation: Wake (117th/120 in FBS at the time) and Duke (114th).  Their offensive output?  23 and 21 points, respectively.  You have a better chance of winning Powerball than seeing BC explode offensively this season.

*Luke Kuechly and Max Holloway were outstanding today on defense.  Luke is the MVP on defense again this season.

*BC is 5-5, and as things stand, will probably make a bowl game.  It might make you feel better, or it might not.  It just hurts to know that this team just isn't that good.
