Since baseball got jumped this past weekend at Blacksburg, there's not a whole lot left to which to look forward in the 2009-2010 Boston College sports season. That very same baseball team will, however, play Northeastern, Harvard, and a three-game series against Florida State this week. Keep in mind that the Seminoles are a top 5 team and would have to be strong favorites to win the series over BC. Harvard and Northeastern are the two teams BC beat to win the Baseball Beanpot last month.
Our top-ranked sailing team is competing in Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association races right now, looking to continue their winning ways. This weekend, they will be participating in New England team races. Men's and women's track will be participating in New England championships as well.
Softball plays three against Maryland, preceded by a game against UMass. The ladies have had a dismal campaign, sitting at 15-30 overall, and 1-17 in the conference (last place).
Women's lacrosse will wrap up its regular season against Harvard on Wednesday night, having already lost their ACC Tournament match against Duke. Of course, ACC women's lacrosse is having a tough week already, mourning the loss of UVA player Yeardley Love. I'm sure the entire Boston College community would join me in offering condolences to the family and the University of Virginia.
Enjoy the week.
