BC baseball beats Harvard; in the Beanpot title game

It took a 10-9 win over Harvard to put Boston College in the championship game of the 21st Baseball Beanpot.  It was an ugly game to be sure.

Boston College did not collect their first hit of the game until the 6th inning, but ran out to an 8-1 lead after 7.  In the top of the 9th, however, up 10-4, BC's bullpen made the game far more exciting than it had to, letting Harvard close to within one run -- with the tying run 90 feet away.  Dave Laufer got the strikeout to end the game and move BC forward to next week's final.

The Eagles (16-17) haven't won a title in this competition since 2006.  They will play either Northeastern (defending champs) or UMass (sub-.500 team that beat BC at home yesterday).  Sounds fun.

This pitching staff, however, I'm just not seeing it from these guys.  More often than not, they get lit up.  If you see the stats, you'll see what I mean.  If that's going to be the case for the next month, then you can probably forget it, because these ACC teams will hurt them badly.
