Maryland beats Wake

The Terps have all but punched their ticket to the dance now. The ACC will become a 7-bid conference as Maryland beat #9 Wake in the ACC Tournament quarters. I said that Wake has been prone to have off-nights, and they did -- the Demon Deacons looked awful. Their time in the NCAA tournament will be brief and unremarkable if they play like that. Teague had a miserable game.

Maryland wanted it more and it showed. The ever-insufferable Vasquez was well into the 20s as he led his team to the semis, where they will face either BC or Duke. The Terps are doing the exact opposite of what their recent propensity has been: they've been hanging tough in the game that counts rather than packing it in.
